Notekura
For people with a large Evernote archive

Keep every Evernote note. Pay $69 a year, not $249.99.

Notekura will import your whole library with nothing lost: notebooks, stacks, nested tags, note links, attachments and the text in your scans. Then you can search all of it on every device.

$69 a year (about $5.75 a month). Evernote Advanced costs $249.99 a year.

The problem

You pay $249.99 a year to keep an archive

Too big for the small plan

Evernote Starter ($99 a year) holds only 1,000 notes and 20 notebooks. A large library needs Advanced, at $249.99 a year.

Other apps lose the structure

UpNote, Apple Notes, Notion and Obsidian can import your notes. But stacks, the tag tree, note links or search in scans often break.

Too much to move by hand

Thousands of notes, PDFs and scans. You cannot open each note and check it.

Who it is for

You use Evernote as your archive

You do not want a new way to write notes. You want to keep the notes that you already have, and find them fast.

10+ years

You started with Evernote a long time ago. Your notes hold receipts, scans, web pages, manuals and family records.

Thousands of notes

Your library has 1,000 to 60,000 notes. Many notes have PDFs and images. A manual move is not possible.

Several devices

You use more than one system. For example, an iPhone and a Windows PC, or an Android phone and a Mac.

  • Mac
  • Windows
  • iPhone
  • Android
Probably not for you if:
  • You want a free notes app. Many good free apps are available.
  • You use only Apple devices. Apple Notes can be sufficient.
  • You want a Markdown tool to link ideas. Obsidian does this well.
Free audit

See what a move would lose, before you move

  • Drop your Evernote export (.enex) into the audit. It counts your notes, attachments, note links, scans and tasks.
  • It shows what UpNote, Joplin, Notion, Apple Notes and Obsidian keep, and what you must fix by hand.
  • Your files stay on your computer. The audit works also with no internet connection.

How the move works

Three steps, and you can check each one

  1. Get your notes out

Export your notebooks from the Evernote desktop app. We show you how. Evernote stays as it is.

  2. Import everything

Notekura imports your notes and shows a count for each item: notes, attachments, links, tags and scans.

  3. Check, then decide

Compare the counts with your library. Keep Evernote until you are sure. Then cancel it at your next renewal.

Lock in $69 a year before launch

Full refund at any time before launch, and for 30 days after.

What we import

The full library, not only the text

Most importers lose the structure. Your notes arrive, but the stacks, tag tree and links break. Our first job is to keep all of it.

Our first test result (October 2026)

We read a test library of 10,310 notes out of Evernote through Evernote's official connection. 100 % of the notes and 100 % of the attachments came back. All stacks and the full tag tree came back with no manual work.

ItemWhat Notekura will do
Notebooks and stacksKeep each note in its notebook. Rebuild your stacks. You check the map in less than 10 minutes.
Nested tagsKeep the full tag tree, not a flat list.
Note linksChange each link between notes so that it opens the correct note.
AttachmentsKeep all files: PDFs, images, audio and others. We do not skip large files.
OCR textRead the text in your scans and images, so search finds it.
Web clipsKeep the page content, images and source address.
Dates and detailsKeep the created date, updated date, author and source address of each note.

An import report that you can check

After the import, you see a count for each item: notes, attachments, links, tags and OCR text. You can compare each count with your library.

Fast search on every platform

Search finds words in notes, PDFs and scans.

  • Web
  • Mac
  • Windows
  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • Android

Not in the first version

The web clipper, email to notes and the document scanner come later. You can search your old web clips, emails and scans from the first day.

We will use only import methods that Evernote's terms permit.

Notekura is not built yet. Its column shows our plan and our first test: 100 % of the notes and attachments and 96 % of the note links of a test library with 10,310 notes came back. If Notekura does not keep an item from this list, you get a full refund. "Other notes apps" means UpNote, Joplin, Notion, Apple Notes and Obsidian, from their import guides (October 2026). The free audit shows each app for your own library.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Another question? Email hello@notekura.com.

Can I use Notekura now?

No. Notekura is not built yet. We build it only if this test shows enough demand. The audit tool works now.

Does the audit upload my notes?

No. The audit reads your export file in your browser. Your notes do not leave your computer. If you agree, it sends only counts (for example, the number of notes). It never sends note text, titles or file names.

Why do you ask for a pre-order?

Many people say that they will pay. Fewer people do pay. A refundable pre-order is the best way to know if we must build Notekura.

How do I get a refund?

Reply to any of our emails or to your receipt. We refund the full amount to your card. You can do this at any time before launch, and for 30 days after launch. If we do not build Notekura, we refund all pre-orders without a request.

Which Evernote data can you import?

The plan is: notes, notebooks, stacks, nested tags, links between notes, attachments, OCR text, web clips, dates and source addresses. Before we build, we test each item on a library of 10,000 notes. We will publish the results.

How do you get my notes out of Evernote?

We will use only methods that Evernote's terms permit. For example, the export files that you make in the Evernote desktop app. We do not use methods that copy another app's identity.

Can I keep Evernote while I try Notekura?

Yes. The import does not change or delete anything in Evernote.

What about a web clipper, email to notes and scans?

These come after import and search. You can search your old clips and scans from the first day.

What if you stop the service?

You can export your full library at any time, in open formats (HTML, Markdown, your original files and a JSON file with the structure). You do not need Notekura to read the export. If we ever close, we tell you at least 90 days before, and the export continues to work until the last day.

Is there a free plan?

No. A free plan needs ads or limits. We do not want either. There will be a 30-day trial after launch.

Are you part of Evernote?

No. Notekura is an independent product. We are not connected to Evernote or Bending Spoons.
